Dan Adams Biography 

Dan Adams has been employed by Cal Farley’s since 1996, and has served as President and CEO since June, 2005. He lives in Amarillo with his wife of 29 years.

Dan, one of six children, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Methodist missionaries. As a youngster, he attended schools in France and the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as attending boarding school at Sakeji in northern Zambia. He graduated from high school in San Angelo, Texas in 1975.

Dan received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwest Texas State University in 1983, and a Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas in 1991. He received the Charles I. Wright Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Texas School of Social Work in 2009.

Dan’s public service experience is extensive. Those most notable includes his current role as President of the Texas Alliance for Child and Family Services. He also serves by Texas Governor Rick Perry’s appointment, on the State Committee for Licensing Standards. He has served as President of the school board of trustees for two Texas independent school districts.

As President and CEO of Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch and the Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch Foundation, Dan provides oversight for all programs and services while supporting operations, finance, fundraising and asset management. His life experiences, education and career in the administration of social services have been about mission-focused work with youth and families.
